With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Honora McGee Twynam on February 21, 2026.
Born December 1928 in Montreal, Quebec, Mary was the first child of James McGee and Margaret Lafontaine. She was a loving sister to Kathleen (Bob), James (Louise), Sheilagh (Jimmy), Elizabeth (Lou), and Rosalind (Ron).
Formerly married to James O’Shaughnessy and beloved wife of Gerard Twynam (deceased).
Mary was a devoted mother to Lynne (George), Bob (Kathy), Bill (Kathy), Michael (Janet), and Tim (Anna), and a caring stepmother to David (Nancy), Mary-Janetta (Bruce), Barry (Paulette), Irene, and Patrick (Grace). Mary was a proud grandmother to fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Mary loved to travel and cherished spending time with her extended family across Canada. A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Residences Persaud for their dedicated care and compassion.
The family will receive condolences at The Church of Saint-John the Baptist, located at 233 St-Claire Ave., Point-Claire, QC, H9S 4E3, on Saturday, March 14th, at 1:00 p.m. A church service will follow from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., with a reception from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
