Patrick Dupuis-Dufresne

It is with unbearable sadness that we announce that Patrick Dupuis-Dufresne died from an accident while on a student exchange in Taiwan at NCTU in engineering. He was 22, and had many unfinished dreams and was extremely bright and talented. A beautiful, generous and caring person who will be missed by everyone who knew him. He leaves to mourn his beloved parents, Patricia Dupuis and Benoit Dufresne; his stepmother, Julie Flores; his sister Éliane; his grandparents, Lise Dufresne, Roch Dupuis and Armande Doyon. Patrick is now with his grandfather Bernard Dufresne. He will be dearly missed by aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends and forever in the hearts of those closest to him. ASHRAE was to be Patrick's professional association. He was a member of his local student branch while at Polytechnique Montreal. This scholarship fund will benefit deserving students who want to walk the same professional path that Patrick envisioned for himself. WICA is a non- profit organization which aims to improve the quality of life for persons who are handicapped or disadvantaged, by providing them with much needed practical and emotional support. C'est avec grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons que le 24 février 2017, Patrick Dupuis-Dufresne est décédé accidentellement à Taïwan à l'âge de 22 ans. Il aimait la vie et les gens.

Il laisse dans le deuil sa mère Patricia Dupuis, son père Benoit Dufresne (Julie Flores), sa soeur Éliane, les grands-parents de Patrick: Lise Dufresne, Armande Doyon et Roch Dupuis, ses oncles François Dufresne et Tony Dupuis, ses tantes Johanne O'Hanlon et Sylvie Dupuis, ainsi que ses cousins Mark O'Hanlon et Eric Davies.

Il va manquer à tous ses amis de Montréal et ceux qu'il a connus en échange étudiant et pendant ses multiples voyages.

Il va rejoindre son grand-père Bernard Dufresne dans son dernier voyage.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons pour à la fondation et entreprise de Patrick "The Patrick Dupuis-Dufresne Sholarship Fund" via la Ashrae Foundation, l'association professionnelle dont il était membre depuis ses études à la Polytechnique de Montréal. Ce fonds étudiants contribuera à aider des étudiants qui veulent suivre le parcours professionnel que Patrick avait envisagé pour lui-même.
