Regina (Jean) Agatha Darwent was born in British Guyana in 1925. Having grown up as a child in the middle of a family of 10, Jean was always surrounded at home by action, excitement, friends, family, and most of all - love!
Jean met the love of her life Trevor in Guyana. When Jean and Trevor met, it was love at first sight. They were married three months later.
Jean and Trevor had Jackie (Dan Cere), Christopher, Jennifer, Marilyn (Eric), David (Cheryl), Rose (Ray), Mary Jane (John), and Tim (Karen). This large family eventually led to 33 grandchildren and 69 great-grands. Jean and Trevor’s love led to 102 people being born with many more souls waiting to meet Grandma Jean when she died.
Jean loved playing the harmonica, ping-pong, whistling, games like Scrabble, praying and most of all - Jesus. Her greatest longing in her final years was to get to Heaven and to bring everyone with her.
Jean had the beautiful gift of making everyone feel loved and seen. She was a best friend to many people, and we hope all will find comfort in knowing that we can still talk to Grandma Jean. With the bonus that now she can go directly to Jesus to help us.
Jean asked for everyone to wear Easter coloured clothes to her funeral because her death is a celebration. She is finally with God and her deceased family members. She always did love a party.
