Thank you for showing me so many great things growing up; all your tricks, your jokes, your talent, your humor and mostly, the love you showed your family. I could never imagine having better grandparents than you and Nanny. You two are very special people and Sam and I shared a relationship with you both that I believe not most grandchildren have the chance to share with their grandparents. 
 
There were so many things about spending time with you that I enjoyed.. The nights Sam and I would sleep over and you would play piano for hours while we would lay our heads on Nanny’s lap as she rubbed our arms while sharing her version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Or when you would show me trick after trick that I still to this day, have no idea how you came up with.. Even the faces you would make!!! The amount of laughing attacks I’ve had in the past with you.. PRICELESS.  
 
It’s strange now that you’re gone because since day one, It has always been Nanny and Papa. I know that Nanny is missing you everyday, but we will be there for her, loving her for as long as we live. You two have been and always will be the one couple I will look up to forever. I love you so much and I am always thinking of you.  
 
I will always continue to eat with a small fork for every meal. This is not goodbye.. rest in peace.

Dad, I think about you every day. I guess that's a good thing but it doesn't make it any easier. I would mention all the times that I miss but there are too many. In the last year I miss those Tuesday afternoons when I would stop over at your place after work and spend time with you & Mom before going to get the kids. This might sound funny but it was the most relaxing time of my day. I always had a warm, proud & happy feeling in my heart when you saw Laurie-Anne & Anthony as you were always so happy to see them. As I look back in my life and my childhood, words cannot describe how proud & lucky I am to have had a father like you. Of all the great things that I could say about you (and there are many), the one thing that always stuck out for me was your patience. To this day I am still amazed at how much patience you had with all of us growing up. And that amount of patience could not exist without an incredible abundance of Love & Caring for your Family. We know that you loved us very much and we will always love you. You will always be in my heart & I will miss you forever.

Uncle Steve,

In the sea of humanity you were one of those unique souls for whom I can say, with great confidence, “Yes you did make a difference in people’s lives.” You selflessly gave from the heart; you were the definition of-what I consider-a “good person”.  Truly you were a renaissance man to be envied; pianist, historian, comedian, magician, tailor etc.  I thank you for the many wonderful treasured memories of my formative youth which contributed to the vision of the person I wanted to be when I grew up.  Some of the greatest gifts a child can receive from an adult are the feelings of being encouraged, heard and taken seriously no matter how silly I was.  I can’t help but smile when I think of those many magical summers in Lachine and Jacquet River.  Teaching me how to use your Super-8 video camera and trusting me to shoot our epic shorts of “Saving Girl from burning building” and “Something, Something from Space” awakened my passion for creativity with technology.  For some strange reason I have a desire to own a Lada just because of your colorful commentaries about this wonderful vehicle.  Speaking of vehicles, I don’t know anyone else who would have the presence of mind to turn off the ignition and calmly brace for impact for a head on collision.  This was Uncle Steve-calm, welcoming, loving and someone you could aspire to be like.  God bless you and until we meet again.

When I think about you, I remember all your corny jokes,  tricks and your great sense of humour.  I remember how fussy you were in your eating habits and how meticulous you were in your work and hobbies.  Those are the things that made you “YOU”.  Those are the things that make us smile when we think of you.  We’ll miss your little wave HI and your smile when we skype with Anne.  Rest in peace.

I got to meet Steve about 10 years ago and he made a great impression. He told me he liked talking to me because he had no problem hearing my voice..... He was a friendly, smart, witty and down to earth person; he was so easy to like. The first time I was with him, he placed 9 matches on the table & asked me to make 10 without breaking any of them; of course I couldn't do it but he did. He will be surely missed and I believe Steve is with Jesus today, remembering when Jesus said: "My father's house has many rooms, if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you."
May God be with Anne & family as they go through this trying time.   Russell

Not all son-in-laws get to have a great father-in-law. I was one of the lucky ones! I always looked forward to your visits, we connected together and had a great time each and every time. I will miss you so much, but I know that I am a lucky and better person to have been able to be part of your family. Rest in peace Mr. M.

Hi Papa
I know you can see this so I want to direct this message to you. I think about you everyday, all the wonderful memories we shared and all the love you had to give. I miss you with all my heart, you were always a happy, positive giving person and never the less so smart and creative! You always made me smile whether it was by the comfort of your heart, or one of your silly jokes that you'd always share. I will always cherish the times we spent together. Marc would like to let you know how much he will miss you, I know you loved him like a grandson and you both got along so well. He'd like to say GO HABS GO!!! (even though you were never much of a fan you did say we have a chance this year lol!)
It is so hard to accept that someone that means so much to you is no longer here but... "c'est la vie" like you always say. You will forever be in our hearts.

I always looked forward to visiting or you guys coming down to visit. Uncle Steve you were always kind and gentle, I always loved your magic tricks especially the one where you would break your thumb off and then it was magically back together. Auntie Anne I hope that you find comfort and love from your family and friends to help you on this journey. You are sadly missed Uncle Steve rip :(


I will always cherish my memories of Uncle Steve; from playing Fur Elise on his keyboard for me, to introducing me to Nutella, to our shared insistence that some food tastes 'too sharp', he was a wonderful uncle to Michael and me. Rest in Peace

Although I only had the pleasure of being in his company a few times, I was struck by his calming and comforting presence. Before getting married, Ken brought me to meet his Uncle Steve and Auntie Anne. I clearly remember how he went out of his way to make me feel comfortable in his home- and I did. I didn't have to spend much time in the presence of this man to know that he was a caring, intelligent and loving person. How blessed you all are to call him family. Steve was the ultimate family man. He was always very interested in what his children and grand kids were doing and ready with assistance and advice. I'll miss seeing his time saving gadgets and other inventions when Vera and I stop over on our way to and from New Brunswick. Rest in peace my friend; you deserve it. We will take good care of Anne,the love of your life.

Farewell Uncle Steve.  Heaven just got themselves an outstanding angel.  I'm sure as soon as Steve arrived it went something like this, "Hey, St. Peter,...that gate's got a bit of squeak in it.  I can fix that for you."  Your kindness, wonderful sense of humor, warm and inspirational personality will be greatly missed.

Sleep in peace dear brother in law, Steve.  You were a very special man!  We loved you from the moment we met you & we saw what a wonderful husband you were to my sister Anne. You shared such a loving relationship, one that many envied. A better  & more loving father you couldn't ask for. He was a jack of all trades & did everything to perfection & that included having fun, joking & playing tricks on everyone. We love you dearly & will miss you greatly. XOXO
