

Alfred A. Bonvini died on Thursday, June 21, 2012 surrounded by his family at Hospice By the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida. Born July 14, 1921, Alfred resided in Pompano Beach, Florida with his wife of 64 years, Adelaide. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA were he operated a plumbing business with his father, Anthony, and then worked for the Philadelphia Board of Education as a mechanical inspector. Mr. Bonvini was also a plumbing and heating teacher at the Dobbins Trade School where he taught many aspiring plumbers in the Philadelphia area. His memberships were many; he served as President and Secretary of the South Philadelphia Plumbers Association, was a board member for the Sons of Italy, and was an active member of the Lions Club. He also proudly served our county in World War Two as a Seabee, the US Navy construction battalion, and helped build military bases, airports, and supply facilities in Iwo Jima. Survived by his wife, Adelaide, daughters Lynn and Marianne, son Anthony, Daughter-in-Law Penny, granddaughters Emily and Christine, sister Elva, nieces Loretta, Marie, Denise, and nephew Mark. Mr. Bonvini was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, friend, and a faithful servant of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Services will be held at St. Coleman Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 11am.
Eternal Rest Grant unto Alfred, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
