The Nelligan Sea Turtle Research Support fund was established in 1989 by the friends and family of Mr. Thomas Nelligan, Carolanne's father, to perpetuate Mr. Nelligan's love of the ocean and sea turtles. The FAU Marine Research Lab works in conjunction with Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.
