Charles R. Durham

Durham, Charles R, 91, of Pompano Beach FL, passed away peacefully at home on March 1, 2016. Beloved brother of the late Dorothy Willoughby, Iris (Herman) Falk, and Ronald Durham, along with nephew Bob Willoughby. Survived by Sister-in-law Josephine Durham, niece Pat (Gordon) Hemme, and nephews Mike (Josephine) Falk, Dennis Falk, Don Willoughby, Eric Durham, Jay (Gina) Durham, and many great nieces and nephews.Charles was born in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Eastern High School and served as a Ranger in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge from serving his country, he worked for Prudential Insurance Co. until he moved to Florida in 1970. There he became owner of the Jonah Pool Service in Pompano Beach, a company he operated for more than 40 years.. Charles will always be remembered as an honest, genuine, kind, loyal, and dependable gentleman. A man of his word, he was someone you could always count on through thick or thin. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.A Celebration of Charles’ life is being planned at a later date in Detroit, MI.
