Donald A Schwenn

Donald was born November 28, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Walter and Helen Schwenn.

He proudly served in the US Army. After his discharge from the military, he moved to Minneapolis St. Paul. In 1960, he moved to Columbia City. There he owned and operated Viking Inc for 55 years.

Donald was also an avid member of the Blue Lodge 189, Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Mizpah & Mahi Shrine Temples, Road Runner for Tampa Shrine Hospital, American legion Post 98 & 222, Eagles Aerie 1906 & 3700, and Elks. He also was a past President of Whitley Co. Shrine Club, Whitley Co. Shrine Circus Chairman, donkey patrol and a Ft. Lauderdale Seafarer.

Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary L.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Steven (Vickie) Schwenn, Susan (Claude); grandchildren, Stephanie, Kelly, Jordan, Courtnee “Waterbug”, Jonathan; and brothers, Walter, and Phillip.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 and/or Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45229.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 13, 2011 4-8pm with a funeral service at 6:30pm at Forest Lawn funeral home.
