Elizabeth ”Liz” Merced, 80, of Pompano Beach, Florida passed away on December 22, 2024. She was born on December 19, 1944 in Menfi, Italy; the daughter of Agostino and Maria (Gallo) Noto. Elizabeth met her husband Edicto “Ed” Merced in 1961 in New York. They married in 1963 sharing 61 wonderful years together.
She was a proud and loving wife, dedicated mother to her late son Richard, sister, aunt and friend. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking and hosting for family and friends, playing cards, casinos, shopping and traveling to her favorite destination St. Maarten. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her son Richard D. Merced, brothers Gaspare Noto, Stefano Noto, Vincenzo Noto & Pasquale Noto.
Elizabeth is survived by husband Edicto Merced, sister Bina Gangi, nieces Maria Gangi Cardella, Eloisa O'Connell, Francesca Trapani and daughter in law Migdalia Merced.
In keeping with her wishes cremation was chosen, and no local services are planned at this time. She will be laid to rest in the family’s area of Holy Rood in New York later.
