dearly. He taught us all patience, kindness, loyalty, respect, trust, acceptance, faith, and understanding. In dying, he taught us so much more. His humble, genuine spirit will live within us forever, until our hearts are united once again. He leaves behind "his girls": Mary, his devoted wife of 61 years; two adoring daughters, Mary Gene and Karen Gene, privileged to have the honor of having had him as their dad; and two granddaughters, Victoria and Kazia, who will miss out on so much, but have been blessed just to have had him as their Bop Pop. Everyone who knew him shares in the joy of knowing him, and shares in the grief of losing him. We are all better people for having known him. In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice by the Sea, St Jude, or Independence Resident Hall in his name.
