Florence C Badia

Florence C. Badia, 94 years of age from Pompano Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015. Florence was born on May 29, 1921 in New York, NY to John and Catherine Frey and was educated in the Ridgewood area of Queens, NY. She graduated from Mary Immaculate Hospital Nursing School with a Nursing Degree and joined the US Navy. After serving in the Navy, Florence worked at Framingham Community Hospital and Framingham Union Hospital in MA. She later served as Director of Nursing at Manor Oaks and Manor Pines in Ft. Lauderdale. While applying for her first nursing position she met the love of her life, Dr. Louis J Badia, whom she was married to for 55 years. Florence was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church where she was a member of t he Council of Catholic Women. She also participated in the church program to fee the less fortunate.

Florence is survived by her son Louis J. Badia, Jr.; daughter Cynthia Ann (Mark Espinosa) Geisler and granddaughters Serena Joy (Kurt) Seymour and Ivanna Alicia Espinosa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church 731 N. Ocean Boulevard, Pompano Beach, FL. Entombment will follow in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, North Lauderdale, FL.
