

A friend to many, a son, a brother, a father, grandfather, and a great grandfather, John William Ebert, went home to be with the Lord, on Monday November 7, 2011.
Born on December 23, 1936, in Amityville, New York the only son to Helen and John Ebert. In 1952, John joined the United States Marine Corps. and served our country for nearly 2 years, unfortunately on September 5, 1955 John was diagnosed with polio, which left him paralyzed and bound to a wheelchair. He was honorably discharge and traveled back to New York to begin his journey. He then married and had three beautiful children. Although having the disability, John did not let that affect his quality of life. He was actively involved in many sports where he participated in numerous tournaments, and won many awards including a gold medal in the wheelchair Olympics for table tennis. He was known for his witty sense of humor and always had a joke that would make you laugh. His outgoing personality made him friends wherever he went. John was a very generous man who gave of himself and always put others first.
He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with the, he was loved by all that knew him
He is survived by his three children Jack, Susie and Linda, 6 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and his sister Joan.
