John was born on May 8, 1937 to James and Eve Weis in Toledo Ohio. John was one of 5 children with sister Kathy Paster and bothers Jim Weis, Tom Weis, and Joe Weis. To his friends and loved ones, he was known and Jack. His life can be characterized as one of selflessness, service, and dedication to his country, his community, and his family. He spent four years active service in the Navy and later served in the Naval Reserves. Jack also served his community as a police office for the Toledo metro police where he joined his brother Jim and father James, who was a captain at the time.
He married Lynne Louise Conrad on July 3, 1965 and they had two children, John and Jenny, in Maumee, Ohio. They moved to Plantation, Florida in 1977 where he pursued a successful career as an insurance agent for Prudential where he was consistently a top producer. Jack continued to serve his community by volunteering as a coach for his son and daughter in various sports and became an active member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and later All Saints Catholic Church where he was a Lecture and a Eucharistic Minister.
While in Florida, Jack developed a passion for the outdoors becoming a boater and avid fisherman. He loved snorkeling as well. He shared these activities with his children and grandchildren by teaching them and giving them opportunities to enjoy life on the water.
In 2008, Jack and Lynne set off on a new adventure and journeyed to Flagstaff, Arizona where they moved into their dream home. Consistent with his character, Jack got involved in the local church, San Francisco di Asis, and volunteered as a tour guide at Walnut Canyon National Monument. In Flagstaff, Jack and Lynne spent their remaining years sharing their love of the outdoors hiking and biking, spending time with their children and grandchildren, hosting parties, and going on one adventure after another.
Throughout all phases of his life, he was an avid outdoorsman, loved music and dancing with Lynne, played the guitar, traveled, painted, and loved to garden and landscape his homes. Most of all, he adored his Lynne who passed away in November 2018. Since then, he has had a hole in his heart he simply wasn’t able to fill. He was never the same after her passing and now that he has been laid to rest, he can be whole again with the love of his life. He will be dearly missed by all.
He is survived by his children, John L. Weis and Jennifer Robino, his sister, Kathy Paster, two brothers, Joe and Tom Weis, and 5 grandchildren, Conrad Weis, Erica Weis, Hannah Robino, Nicholas Robino, and Anthony Robino.
