Scott Philip Allen died peacefully in his sleep on May 26, 2022 in his home. He was 65 years old. Scott was born on April 6, 1957 at the US Naval Base in Key West, FL to parents, Lt. Commander Philip Harcourt Allen and Jane Whitham Allen.
Scott is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Allen, his daughters, Sarah and Molly Allen, of Pompano Beach, FL, his mother, Jane Allen of Easton, Connecticut, his sister, Dr. Christy Allen of New Haven, Connecticut, his sister in law, Tracy Fracasso and nephew, Mike Allen. He is preceded in death by his father, Lt. Commander Philip Allen of East Hampton, Massacusetts and his brother, Bill Allen, of Easton, Connecticut.
Scott graduated from Virginia Tech in 1981 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1981 and began his career as an engineer in the Roofing Industry. In 2012, he took a position at Best Roofing in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and at the time of his death, Scott was Master Service Master and Director of Technical Services for the company. Known as Scottie by his colleages and friends, Scott's intelligence, math skills and humor made him unique and well known in the industry and much loved and respected. Scott worked for Best Roofing for 10 years, and his passing has left a void in the business as well as a hole in their hearts.
He was loved by all. Scott was a father, uncle, brother to everyone who knew him. After his family, which included numerous cats and dogs, fishing was the greatest passion in his life. He also loved following the Florida Panthers and often attended hockey games with Lisa and his girls. He could usually be found watching a game on TV wearing his Panthers jersey. He avidly followed Virginia Tech and LSU football.
Scott's fun, quirky humor was enjoyed by all who knew him. He was incredibly, but humbly, intelligent. Scott was a source of all knowledge, both significant and trivial, and he loved playing Trivia at a local bar, surrounded by his girls and their high school friends who grew up at the Allen house. More than anything in his life, Scott loved his two girls.
