Virginia Anne Todd

Age 62 of Lauderdale by the Sea, FL passed away at home on October 15, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Roslyn, NY on July 12, 1950. At a young age her family moved to Wilmette, IL. Dee was the daughter of the late Richard Todd and Janet Waite Todd. She is survived by her husband Mark Olson, son Robert Keck of Chicago, daughter Cheryl (Salvatore) Keck-Manganaro and granddaughters Mila and Brigitte of Palermo, Italy; stepson David (Mindy) Olson of St. Paul, MN; stepdaughter Emily (Rob) Knight and grandson Kellan of Las Vegas, NV; and stepdaughter Amanda Olson of St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by brothers Douglas Todd of Setauket, NY and Rick Todd of Hauppauge, NY, and other relatives. Dee was passionate about the housing and social needs of seniors, theatre & dance, and golf. A graduate of New Trier HS in Winnetka, IL, she became involved in theatre arts at an early age. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in English and Dance from the University of Illinois – Chicago. She was active in the “Village Follies” to support the Winnetka (IL) Community House. She continued her education while working in real estate in the Chicago area, receiving her Masters Degree in Business Management from National Louis University in Chicago, and was involved in the opening of several Chicago area retirement communities. Dee and husband Mark moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1998, and then to Pompano Beach in 2010 where they maintained a lead role in senior housing. Dee was most recently the Marketing Director at Devonshire at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, until she took leave to fight her courageous battle with cancer. Husband Mark is the Director of Sales and Marketing at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach. The family invites those who knew and loved Dee to join them in a celebration of her memory on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00PM at Christ Church (Chapel), 210 NE 3rd St., Pompano Beach, FL 33060.
