Gerald Mack Warren, age 87, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was born on May 28, 1938, to Howard and Quay Marie Busby Warren. Mack graduated from Pontotoc High School in 1956 and attended Itawamba Junior College, where he excelled as a basketball player. After college, he joined the U.S. Air Force and played basketball at McDill Air Force Base and other bases around the country. He married the love of his life, Elaine Tutor Warren, on June 26, 1958. After he was discharged from the Air Force, Mack worked at Brookwood Furniture and later was the original owner of Barclay Furniture. He enjoyed watching any activity in which his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated. Anyone who knew Mack knew how much pride and joy he took in working in his yard daily.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. The service will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Corley and Rev. Brian Griffith officiating, and burial will follow in the Pontotoc City Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the Warren family.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Tutor Warren, his daughter, Elese Love (Keith), a son, Mark Warren (Teresa), five grandchildren, Brittani Hubbard (Brien), Warren Mitchell Boatwright, Frances McCoy (Josh), Ali Inmon (Barron) and Mack Warren (Cailey), and four great-grandchildren, Preslee Boatwright, Gypsy McCoy, Turner McCoy and Maxton McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Glen Warren, and a granddaughter, Samantha Turner.
The pallbearers will be Warren Mitchell Boatwright, Mack Warren, Brien Hubbard, Josh McCoy, Barron Inmon, and Kevin Walls.
