Mary Loyce Purvis, age 91, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc. She was born September 8, 1926 to Monard and Oma Cruse Patterson. She was a member of Ecru United Methodist Church, and was retired from Comfort Care. Mary Loyce enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Parrish and Rev. William Montgomery officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jean Turner (Dorman) of Ecru, MS and Cheryl Russell (Tim) of Pontotoc, MS; two sons, Donald Miller (Faye) of Pontotoc, MS and David Miller of Ecru, MS; two sisters, Wilma Hattox and Dot King (Danny), both of Pontotoc, MS; six grandchildren, Brandi Glasson, Mikki Gregory (Mark), Jody Miller, Richie Turner, Eric Miller and Jordan Russell; and four great-grandchildren, Jayden Miller, Amelie Turner, Bella Gregory and Tristan Glasson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Elmer Miller and Perren Purvis; a grandson, Shane Miller; four sisters, Gynell Akers, Thelma Todd, Maxine Johnson and Cornelia Conlee; and two brothers, Stanley Ford Patterson and Carl Wayne Patterson.
Pallbearers will be Jody Miller, Richie Turner, Eric Miller, Jordan Russell, Tristan Glasson and Tim Conlee.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday and from 12 to 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
