

Oris Owen “Bill” Bailey, Jr., of Cairo, died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Church Street Manor in Ecru, MS. He was a cattle farmer and worked at Dean Manufacturing and Deville Furniture before retiring. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Italy in the Occupational Forces after WWII, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 16. He enjoyed farming, camping, fishing and hunting.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc, with Rev. Rick Griffin officiating; burial will follow in the Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife: Eva Mae Newsum Bailey of Cairo, MS; two sons: Don Bailey (Bonnie) of Olive Branch, MS and Billy Ray “Padye” Bailey (Janet) of Cordova, TN; one brother: Bobby Joe Bailey of Ingomar, MS; three grandsons: Jeff Bailey (Kerry), Ethan Bailey and Evan Bailey.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Oris Owen Bailey, Sr., and Vance Rorie Bailey; a sister: Katherine Hogue and one brother: Lewayne Bailey.
Pallbearers will be: Ricky Hogue, Kevin Hogue, Jeff Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Evan Bailey, Mike Swords and Mar Alshargatli. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jordan Alshargatli.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home.
