Percy Carroll Kyle, age 82, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, October 31, 2025. He was born on January 10, 1943, to Wiley Martin and Pauline Duncan Kyle. Carroll graduated from Mantachie High School, attended Itawamba Junior College for two years, and obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Mississippi.
Carroll dedicated his life to education and mentorship. He taught and coached at New Albany and Pontotoc High Schools, later retiring as the guidance counselor at Pontotoc High School. A passionate coach, Carroll spent many summers leading baseball teams with Pontotoc Park and Recreation, building lifelong bonds with his players. Beyond the classroom and the field, he found great joy in helping others—volunteering regularly at the local food bank and supporting his community through quiet acts of kindness.
Known for his love of family, faith, and fishing, Carroll was happiest surrounded by loved ones or out on the water. He also had a lifelong enthusiasm for cars, often buying and selling them as a favorite pastime. A devoted member of West Heights Baptist Church, Carroll cherished his Sunday School class and the fellowship he found there.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, November 3, 2025, at West Heights Baptist Church, with Dr. David Hamilton officiating; burial will follow in the West Heights Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the Kyle family with the arrangements.
