Roy Wade Pannell

Roy Wade Pannell, age 92, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his residence. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a retired brick mason. He was a WWII Army veteran and a life-time member of the VFW. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and spending time with his family.

Services will be at 2 PM Monday, July 21, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Fred Hartley officiating; burial will follow in the Troy Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his children: Harvey Pannell (Judy), Linda Bramlitt (Tody), Jerry Pannell, Steve Pannell (Mildred) and Donna Barlow (Sammie) all of Pontotoc, MS; twelve grandchildren: Lance Pannell, Len Pannell, Jeff Pannell, Scott Pannell, Beth Mathews, Kim Dowdy, Shane Bramlitt, Lane Bramlitt, James Pannell, Ben Pannell, Heather Pannell and Pam Anderson; thirteen great-grandchildren and a special friend: Doris Watson.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Calhoun Pannell and Sarah Frances Riddle; his wife: Ailene Chapman Pannell; 2 sons: Marion Wade Pannell and William Leroy Pannell; 2 daughters-in-law: Deborah Pannell and Elizabeth Pannell; 2 sisters: Lillian McCreight and Louise Warren; and two brothers: Glover Pannell and William Carl Pannell.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sammie Barlow, Joe Harmon and Tody Bramlitt.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday and from 12 to 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
