Vivian Lavine Franks, age 94, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Pontotoc Health and Rehab in Pontotoc. She was born April 29, 1922 to Elijah Anderson McGreogr and Cornelia Pathina Pickens McGregor. She was a member of New Faith Baptist Church and retired from Rivera Shirt Factory. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing “Rook”, working word puzzles and watching the Atlanta Braves.
Services will be at 1:30 PM Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marcus Coward officiating; burial will follow in Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her two daughters: Bette Jo Aldridge and Mary Dean Coward, both of Pontotoc, MS; a sister: Edna Clydean Ard, of Grenada; two grandchildren: Mitzi Voyles and Cory Coward; one great-granddaughter: Lauren Bullard and husband C.C. Bullard and one great-great granddaughter: Zoey Lynn Bullard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Aaron Franks, her two sisters: Sybil Gullick and Audrey Williams.
Pallbearers will be: Rex Franks, C.C. Bullard, Cory Coward and Richard Gullick.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 8 PM and Sunday from 1 to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
