He was a U.S. Navy Lt. Commander, serving 26 years in the Navy. He was awarded the Bronze Star
And Combat Veterans Ribbon. He served three tours in Vietnam and was an advisor to Liberia Navy
and Coast Guard. He was an alumnus of Jacksonville State University.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter E. and Celia Copeland Staton and one brother,
Ernest Walter Staton.
He is survived by his wife: Bobbie Jean Frasier Staton; one son, Billy Eugene Staton, Jr. (Brenda Bain); three daughters, Donna Seacrist (Randy), Dina Cail, and Julie Maloy; one sister-in-law; Loretta Wright;
ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
