Cecil “Lance” Beach departed this life into God’s presence on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the age of 76. Lance was born in Poplarville, Mississippi on October 14, 1947 to Cecil and Mary Jo Beach. He attended Poplarville High School, Pearl River Community College and went on to further his education by earning a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. Lance became known as Coach Beach to many as he coached high school football in Pearl River County, spending most of his career at Poplarville High School. After retirement, he went on to coach at private schools, continuing what he loved. Lance lived and breathed football, enjoyed to fish and most of all, loved being a husband, father and grandfather. Coach Beach was a man of great character and instilled those same values in all of the lives he touched throughout his life and career. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his grandparents, Lance is preceded in death by his father, Cecil James Beach and his granddaughter, Phoebe Jenkins
Left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Lois Beach; son, Lanny (Jennifer) Beach; daughter, Bobbie Jo (Tony) Jenkins, grandchildren, Halli Beach, Kate Beach and Lucy Jenkins; sister, Jo Ann (Billy) Warren and his mother, Mary Jo Rester.
Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm at Oak Hill Baptist Church on Monday, August 5, 2024. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 11:00 am until the service begins. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with John Carley, Winston Herndon, Coy Ash, Larry Bishop, Greg Amacker and Jeffrey Hodge assisting as pallbearers.
