David was the youngest of three children born to E.B. Williams Jr. and Alice Mowetha (Schwarzauer) Williams. In his youth he was an avid outdoorsman and athlete. He loved to play basketball on the varsity team in high school. In adulthood he had a professional reputation for exceptional creativity and skill in the field of brick, stone and tile masonry. On the weekends you might see him ride by on his BMW motorcycle. He also obtained his Private Pilot License. He planned to become a professional helicopter pilot before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He was known as an honest, humorous and generous man with a gift for uplifting others.
Surviving family members include two daughters; April Faith Williams and Laura Jane Williams; a son, Paul Williams and his older brother, E. Bragg Williams III.
David is preceded in death by his parents E.B. Williams Jr. and Alice Mowetha (Schwarzauer) Williams and his sister Emily Thatch.
Funeral services, Officiated by Reverend Dr. Eric Pridmore and Reverend Jeff Pruitt will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, beginning at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church, 202 W. Church St., Poplarville, MS 39470. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 10:00am until the service begins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David’s memory to the First United Methodist Church in Poplarville at the above address, a charity of the donor’s choice or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
