Mr. Sims was born May 7, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas to Willie Lee Sims and Elizabeth Neal Sims. He was a car salesman and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Melinda Frix.
Family members include four children, Melanie Homan, Melissa Griggs, Matthew Sims, Mallory Sims; one brother, Danny Joe Sims; six grandchildren, Nicholas Griggs, Ty Griggs, Chloe Sims, Carly Frix-Rhyne, Jacob Frix, and Kennedy Frix.
