Gertrude Tufts DiGiovanni

DIGIOVANNI Gertrude Fay Tufts born September 19, 1923 passed away May 13, 2019. She was predeceased by her mother and father, beloved husband John L. DiGiovanni, late siblings Hattie Mae, Allen; nephews Robert, Sidney, Reedy. She is survived by her children; William, John, Betty, Selma, Kathy; grandchildren, Alicia, Mark, Jason, Erin, Jason, Lauren, Samuel, Sasha; and a host of great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind sons-in-law; Ray, Scott, Terry and daughters-in-law; Bette, Becky. Nephews; Tico, Big Daddy O; and their spouses and children. Brother-in-law Loyd and his wife Mazie. In addition to family she leaves behind her extended Blue Berry Hill family, all of whom she loved very much. Gertrude graduated from Martin Behrman High School and throughout her adult life she was dedicated to the lord, her family and a multitude of animals that she cared for as she always said they give unconditional love like nothing else in this life. She was a faithful member of Mt Olivet and St Philip’s Episcopal Church in New Orleans, La and Olive and First Baptist Church in Lumberton, Ms. She was little Momma Gert to so many and was loved dearly by all. A funeral service honoring her life will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019, 2:00 pm. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev, John R. Sapp officiating. The family will greet friends before and after the funeral at the church.
