James Donnis Stringfellow

Funeral services will be held at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 315 Hwy 11 S , Poplarville on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Holmes Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lucedale at 3:00 pm. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until services, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stringfellow was born November 17, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama to Charlie James Stringfellow and Myrtle Lee Dickerson Stringfellow. He graduated from Lucedale High School in 1960; attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (formerly Perkinston Junior College); and received Bachelor and Graduate Degrees in Education and Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He taught Industrial Arts in Moss Point Schools from 1968 until 1981. He retired as Vocational Director at Poplarville High School Career Development Center in 2006. He devoted over 39 years to the school system.

He is preceded in death by his father Charlie James Stringfellow and his wife Loretta Jane Stringfellow.

Family members include two children, Mechelle (Brad) Necaise, James Donnis “Don” (Beronica) Stringfellow; his mother, Myrtle Lee Dickerson Stringfellow; brother, Charles Michael “Mike” Stringfellow; four grandchildren, Madison Nodurft, Mason Nodurft, Ashton Stringfellow, Kabie Stringfellow; three step-grandchildren, Vaughn Necaise, Drew Necaise, and Owen Necaise.
