Johnny was born on December 7, 1966, in Gainesville, Florida, to George and Nalita Young and was also blessed to have Gerald and Evelyn Anderson as parents. He was a kind and caring man, often wearing a smile that could light up any room. Johnny had a love for music and was a devoted Elvis fan, able to sing just like him. He also had a deep appreciation for art and possessed a remarkable talent for drawing. As a skilled welder, Johnny took great pride in his work.
A faithful servant of the Lord, Johnny was a devoted member of Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and sibling, and he was the best version of himself to everyone he encountered. Johnny was a great man who will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nalita Young and Gerald and Evelyn Anderson; his sister, Sandra Pearson; and his brothers, Benny Pearson and Billy Nesbitt.
Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife of thirty years, Tina Westbrook Anderson; daughter, Nalita Hurst (Jordan); sons, Shane Anderson (Jennifer) and Alex Anderson (Kayla); grandchildren, Mason Duchmann, Makenzie Duchmann, Noah Anderson, Levi Anderson, and Koen Anderson; sisters, Vivian Pearson and Tina Langford (Joey); brothers, Daniel Pearson (Una Greene), Estel Mitchell, and George Young (Katie); and in-laws, Waymon and Lisa Westbrook and Peggy and Robert Shaw. Johnny is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones.
A funeral service, officiated by Elder Terry Robertson and Elder Gary Sumrall, will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Salem Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service begins. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Josh Smith, Jacob Smith, Alex Anderson, Shane Anderson, Kamrin Lee, and Joseph Byrd serving as pallbearers.
