Johnny Rogers

Johnny Rogers, age 62, of Poplarville, Mississippi, departed this life into God's presence on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was a wonderful person who loved beyond measure.

Johnny was a family man who cherished his family immensely and always wanted his family around him. He had a voice of an angel and loved singing for the Lord. His passion for music and faith led him to travel and share his talent through Gospel music,inspiring his family while bringing many others to the Lord. His angelic voice allowed him the opportunity to sing at the Grand Ole Opry 3 times.

He was a sports enthusiast who taught and coached his children and enjoyed every sport imaginable. He never met a stranger and always made time to enjoy life and the company of others. Johnny touched countless lives with his faith and his generosity.

A hard worker by nature, Johnny worked in construction and as a brick mason, leaving a legacy of dedication and full-hearted living. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Rogers and Frances Smith.

Left to forever cherish his memory are his wife, Almedia "Allie" Rogers; four daughters, Tiphanie Rogers, Amy Taggart, Kaley Landrum and Latisha Herrin (Chris); four sons, Phillip Rogers (Belinda), Joseph Rogers, Christopher Rogers (Tygh) and Christopher David Reid; two sisters, Doris Palmer and Patricia Wolf; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Johnny on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at White Funeral Home, 315 Hwy 11 South, Poplarville, Mississippi. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10:00 am. Burial to follow in North Spoon Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Pullens, Mikey Pullens, Wesley Rogers, Blake McDuff, Thomas Rogers, and Nathan Stevens.
