Laura Jean Alexander, age 69 departed this life into God's presence on Friday, September 26, 2025. A lifelong resident of Poplarville, Mississippi and was raised on Boley Creek. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. She worked at Movie Star and Pearl River County Hospital Nursing Home in Dietary and was a homemaker. Laura loved to cook, making jelly Christmas candy and canning vegetables. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and planting the garden. With her loving and caretaking spirit she would always make sure her family was taken care of and was a caretaker for everyone before herself. She loved and adored her family and her children. Laura will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Laura Alexander; Leroy Wilson; one son, Lavelle Smith; great-grandson, Blake Matthew and the father of her children, Bobby Smith. Left to forever cherish Laura's memory is her one daughter, Cindy Lynn Smith; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Roxanne Gisclair (Dustin), Laura Guzman (Garrett), Emma Roark (Steven), Colton Barnett, Rebell Smith and Sophie Smith; nine great-grandchildren, Vash Smith, Niko Smith, Mina Smith, Audie Jean Gisclair, Addison Gisclair, Blake 'Lynn, WaiLynn, ZeppeLynn and Cory Lavelle; two sisters, Susan and Rose and one brother, Melvin.
