Miriam Hodnett

A lifelong resident of Poplarville, Miriam was born February 15, 1945, to Pascal Lee and Maggie Nelson Lee. After graduating from high school, she continued her education at Pearl River Community College and William Carey College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She devoted 31 years to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Forrest General Hospital before retiring.

Miriam found joy in life’s simple pleasures, - tending her garden, traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains, and spending time in Pigeon Forge. Known for her kindness and warm spirit, she was beloved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Miriam is preceded in death by her parents, Pascal and Maggie Lee.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Steve Hodnett; step-son, Jeffrey (Trish) Hodnett of Picayune, MS; step-grandchildren, Paige Hodnett of Petal, MS, and Michal (Hope) Hodnett of Picayune, MS; and her brothers-in-law, Royce (Glenda) Hodnett of Poplarville, MS, and Paul (Rhenda) Hodnett of Prairieville, LA.

A graveside funeral service, officiated by Reverend Mike Magee, will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Poplarville City Cemetery, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
