

Mr. Amacker, also know as “Cowboy” was born July 3, 1953 in Poplarville. He attended Pearl River Community College and was a retired telephone lineman technician with Bellsouth ( A.T. & T.) from 1972 until 2007. He was passionate about his career and formed many relationships in his 35 year career. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting - especially deer and turkey. He also enjoyed shooting sports, outdoor cooking, and eating. Family was central to his life. He was very well respected in the Bogalusa and Poplarville communities.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Ervin “Bill” Amacker, Sr. and Elzie Holden Amacker; two children, James Cory Amacker, Ashley “A.J.” James Amacker; three nephews, Leotis Smith, Eddie L. Smith, Osborne Keith Pritchett; grandparents, Joseph and Marilla Holden, Will I. and Mary Wheat Amacker; brothers-in-law, Thomas Pritchett and Eddie Smith.
Family members include his wife of 8 years, Vicky Glass Amacker; children, William Shane Amacker, Summer Amacker Mixon, Colby Heath (Andrea) Amacker, Holden Graham Amacker; one stepson, Lance (Laci) Motichek; sisters, Billie Joy Pritchett, Edna Marie Smith, three grandchildren, Mason Shane Amacker, Isabella Marie Douglas, McKenzie Mixon; one step grandchild, Jude Ronco; and one great grandson, Ashton Amacker.
Funeral service will be held at White Sand Baptist Church (2037 Highway 26 West, Poplarville, MS, 39470) on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Amacker Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:00 am until services, Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Holden, Lance Motichek, Dennis Glass, Brillo Wheat, Cliff Wagner, and Mickey Peters.
