Adalbert Balazs

Born in Reghin, Romania.

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Adalbert Balazs.

Albert Balazs, the inventive, european pastry chef, whose ambrosial and whimsical desserts have brought so much joy to the people who tasted his delicious crafts of baking. For over 45 years, Alberts passion of baking, woven pulled sugar flowers and gingerbread houses warmed the hearts of many! Albert was cherished for the kindness and courage he exuded for his two daughters, Rosemarie Balazs and Kate Balazs.

Albert Balazs moved to Port Alberni in 2019 and has continued to pursue his passion of baking. He was regularly seen with loads of baked goods at the Spirit Square Farmers Market on Saturdays. Albert continually expressed the joy of being part of the community and loved seeing the smile on everyone's face when they tasted his baked creations. He devoted his time and energy every Summer and Fall right up until his illness took the best of him.

He will be tremendously missed by his two daughters, Rosemarie and Kate.

Survived by his two daughters, Rosemarie Balazs, and Kate Balazs, his nephew, Tibi Torjai, and his sister Maria Torjai.
