Mr. Albi (Al) Al Einar Korpi

Predeceased by infant son Michael; wife Bobbi; brother Arvo and sisters Aunie and Velma.

Survived by children; Lillian Shaw, Elizabeth Young, Garry Jacobson (Elsie), Mary Nelson (Jerry) as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Powell River, Al lived on the sunshine coast until the 50’s. He moved to the Alberni Valley and worked in the logging industry running tugboats on Great Central Lake, Sproat Lake and in the Alberni Inlet. Al was an active and hard working man who loved to tinker, travel and garden and will be remembered for his sense of humour.

Graveside Service will be held 1:00pm on Monday, August 16th, 2010 at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, 2347 Cedar Road, Nanaimo with Pastor Douglas Patstone officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al’s name to the West Coast General Hospital Foundation, 3949 Port Alberni Hwy, Port Alberni, BC., V9Y 4S1. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca.
