Andrew "Andy" Victor Garcia

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew “Andy” Garcia on September 21, 2014. Andy was born December 20th, 1944 in Port Alberni, BC. He is predeceased by his dad Andres, mom Edith, brothers: Fred, Joe, Dale and sister Sharon.

Andy is survived by his wife Cheryl, his companion canine Zoey, sons Drew, Deone (Jen), treasured grandchildren, Steven (Hannah), Adan, Anya and Steven’s mom Vivian. He also leaves behind his brothers Rick (Jackie), Jerry (Janice) and Robert (Vivian), two sisters, Delores (Bob), Roseanne Garcia (Peter) and sisters-in-law Anna, Pat and Bev.

Andy’s life passion was the ocean. Born to one of the original Bamfield families, his childhood was spent exploring Bamfield’s wonders. His West Coast roots led him onward to a lifetime of working on the water, helping his brothers on their commercial fish boats, operating tugboats independently, then Coulson Forest Products over the past 30 years.

There will be no service by request but a private family gathering will take place.
