Anthony "Tony" Edward Bennett

Tony gave so much of himself to the West Coast and its people. Over the years, he served his community through local government, fisheries, forestry, and many boards and organizations. He believed in showing up, speaking up, and doing what he could for the place he called home.

But to us, he was Dad and Papa. He loved his family more than anything. Since his passing, we've heard from so many people who say he was always talking about us and how proud he was. He told his daughter Marisa that she was the greatest thing in his life. Those words, and the love behind them, will stay with her forever.

Tony cared for Linda with a quiet, steady devotion. We're grateful they were able to hold hands and share a kiss in his final days.

He loved the ocean and dreamed of having a home on the water. He made that dream come true. We'll think of him there, and whenever we hear the waves or watch the sun set over the West Coast.

We'll miss his morning messages, his stories, and the feeling that he was always there. We love you, Papa.

Tony was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Price, and his in-laws, Henry and Bessie Marshall. He is survived by his loving partner Linda; daughter Marisa (Ian); grandchildren Semiah, Miyaan, Heexal, and Hinaayilth; father Ivor; sister Pam (Rory); brother Chris (Celina); and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A private service will take place. Donations in Tony's memory may be made to the Alberni Valley Hospice Society, which operates Ty Watson House.
