It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arlene Lothrop. Arlene was born on May 13,1960 and is survived by her husband Stan and children Kylee (John), Scott (Nicole) and Jordan; grandchildren Lacy, Arlo, Witten, Reid, Parker, Hayes, Eli, and Alison; parents, John and Alison and siblings Sue (Derek), Sandra (Greg), and Paul (Kiersten).
Arlene worked as an RN and her passion was teaching. Her compassion and generosity had no limits. Arlene had the intuition to be there for those who needed her at exactly the right moment. She was the ultimate planner, and the sparkle in her eye at the very hint of a new adventure was contagious. Her ability to gather friends and family, whether it was for a planned trip to Hawaii or a spontaneous weenie roast, was fueled by her enthusiasm to bring people together.
As Nana, she found her purpose to lovingly guide her grandchildren in the joys of life: hunting for and painting rocks, singing songs by the campfire, scavenger hunts, ice cream for dinner, and so much more.
It’s impossible to sum up Arlene in three short paragraphs, the best we can do is honour her by finding the magic in everyday life as she taught us to do. We will always remember her laughter and smile.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.chapelofmemories.ca for the Lothrop family.
