OBITUARY

Brenda Burinder Kour Gauthier

IN THE CARE OF

Chapel of Memories Funeral Directors

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Burinder Kour Gauthier (Rai) after a very short and courageous battle with cancer. In the afterlife she joins husband Andre, son Christopher, father Harry, nephew Tyler, mother-in-law and father-in-law Carol and Michael Gauthier and many other close family members. She leaves behind children Kayla (Jay), Matthew (Arielle), and Jasmine (Spencer), as well as grandson Jordan, mother Nancy, and siblings Kerry (Janik), Rangeet, and Randy. Nephew Steven, niece Alicia(Harry) and great nephew Jacob (Kristina). Brother in law Rene (Deborah), nephew Saige, sister in law Nicole (Steve), niece Hannah and nephew Brett.

Born in Port Alberni on May 25th 1963, Brenda spent her entire life as a citizen of Port Alberni. She was very dedicated in many aspects of her life. Immediately after high school she started her lifelong career at Coulson Forest Products, now known as the Coulson Group of Companies; working there for 45 years. She grew with the company throughout all of the changes and growth in regards to forestry, aviation, and whatever else was thrown her way. Through work, Brenda made many meaningful connections and friendships that she held close to her heart.

She was devoted to her husband and soulmate, Andre, for 27 years until his passing in 2017. Her family and her kids meant absolutely everything to her. Raising all 3 of her children while Andre was oftentimes away working at camp, as well as her grandson Jordan, and then eventually on her own after Andre passed. She was always involved in whatever sports her kids were doing. Whether it was dance, lacrosse, or hockey. Her and Andre loved taking the family camping and spent many summers doing so with her “BFF” group, who was so special to her and to our family. Our honorary aunties, uncles, and “graunties”.

Brenda will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Our family would like to thank everyone for their support and heartfelt emotion during this time. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
