Carl Brian Scott

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Carl Brian Scott. Carl passed away peacefully at his home in Ucluelet on September 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a brave battle with cancer.

Carl was predeceased by his life father, Henry Scott; his life mother, Elsie Scott; and his birth mother, Muriel MacIntosh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Gray; his sisters, Sue Ferguson, Beth MacIntosh (Ken Stokes) and Margaret Anderson, née MacIntosh (Mark); and his brother, Clark MacIntosh (Shannon MacDonald).

Carl will be lovingly remembered by his children, Aren Scott (Marion) and Shaun Scott; his stepchildren, Marcie Gray, Ashley Gray and Thomas Gray; and his cherished grandchildren, Annabella Gray, Lillyan Gray, Betty Scott, Ollie Scott and Greta Scott. He will also be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Above all else, Carl’s family was the most important thing in his life. He loved them deeply and was happiest when surrounded by those he held closest to his heart. His unwavering love, guidance and devotion to his family will remain one of the greatest parts of his legacy.

Carl studied at the University of British Columbia before building a long and successful career. He spent 40 years in the fishing industry, including managing the Trapa/PCP plant in Ucluelet. Later in life, he began a new chapter as a real estate broker and co-owner of the RE/MAX Mid-Island Realty offices. Along the way, Carl also took on many other roles and ventures, approaching each one with his characteristic determination and strong work ethic.

Carl’s love of skiing, sunsets, coffee, travel and driving fast cars will live on through those who knew and admired him. His laughter brought joy to the world, and his presence made life brighter for everyone around him. Carl loved nothing more than to be surrounded by family and friends, making coffee and poking fun. His smile was infectious and you felt blessed when in his presence.

Carl brought that same determination to everything he pursued personally. He was relentless in his commitment to life and embraced the challenge of learning to play the piano with enthusiasm, patience and perseverance. He showed us that it is never too late to learn something new or dedicate yourself to becoming better.

Carl left this world better than he found it. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever carried in our hearts. ❤️

In lieu of flowers donations in Carl's honour can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

A service will be held at the Ucluelet Community Centre October 24th, 2026.
