

Glenn has gone to be with Alice. He is survived by his children Bert (Sharon), Donald (Alison), Elaine Petty (Terry) and Keith (Sherrie); grandchildren Andrew, Ryan (Jaclyn), Jessica (Mike), Jared, Lance (Tara), Shawn, Melanie (Connor), Allyce, Robyn, and Taylor; Great grandchildren: Kyla, Ava, Ethan and Kai; sisters-in-law: Winnie Simpson, Louise Simpson, Fern Simpson and Irene Anderson, Ivy McCulloch (Bill), and Phyllis Smith; brothers-in-law Harry and Bob Woodward; numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, July, 6, 2013 at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005 6th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC with Major Bruce McKenzie officiating, followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch Port Alberni Branch 293, 4680 Victoria Quay, Port Alberni, BC.
Glenn was predeceased by Alice, his wife of 62 years and by his brothers: John, Billy, Henry, Archie, Bert and Ray, and his sisters Helen and Elsie.
Glenn was born in Two Hills, Alta. He was the fifth child of Eva and Robert Simpson. He was in the RCAF during World War II; after which he settled in Port Alberni and married the love of his life, Alice Woodward. Dad worked at the Pulp mill from 1948 – 1983. A member of the Legion for 67 years, he was always active in the community. He was recently awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. He was a true gentleman, independent and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
