John Fredrick Dodge passed away suddenly on August 25, 2011 at 58 years of age. He was predeceased by his father George Dodge in 2004. John is survived by his mother Vera Dodge of Courtenay, sister Diana (Louis) Cyr, twin brother Jim Dodge, son Robert Dodge, daughter Angela (Kennedy) Mann of Victoria, two nephews, two nieces and their families, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
John retired from the Somass Mill in 2010. John grew up with a passion for fishing and camping which stayed with him till the end. There are not many lakes around that he hasn’t fished with his brother.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Chapel of Memories at 4005 6th Avenue in Port Alberni, BC. Tea to follow at the Steel Workers Hall at 4904 Montrose Street. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
