Born in Cape Breton, John moved to Ucluelet with his parents and brother Ed in 1968, where he discovered his love for the ocean, fishing and all things outdoors. John also discovered his love and talent for painting beautiful landscapes of his beloved West Coast.
Forever the jokester, John was always up for a good laugh with his friends, a trip on his boat or just spending time with the people he cared about.
John is survived by his mother, Adeline Demeyere; his brothers Ed (Jody) and Rob; sister, Trish; niece, Brandy-Lee, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends and his cherished dog, the red one, Rosie. John was predeceased by his father, John Pittman Sr as well as his stepfather, Bob Courser.
John's family would like to thank the staff at Tofino General Hospital and Ucluelet Medical Center for their wonderful care of John during his battle.
As requested by John there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made in John's honour to the Canadian Cancer Society.
