Karen's earthbound walk ended on February 11, 2015 at 67 years and her heavenly life began. Predeceased by her parents, Len and Estella and elder sister Elaine, She is survived by Frank, her husband of 40 years, son Keith (Carlee), daughter Diane (Kerry), her sister Maureen, grandchildren Carter and Kamden and faithful in-laws David and Elaine Holm. Born in New Westminster in 1947, she began teaching in Port Alberni in 1971. She was active in churches and with youth soccer. Much loved by her students an family, she is now at peace. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Arrowsmith Baptist Church, 4283 Glenside Road, Port Alberni. Cremation has taken place.
