Lana Janet MacCharles

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Lana Janet MacCharles, at home in Port Alberni, surrounded by family, on September 7th, 2024 at the age of 76.

Lana is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Norris, son Graydon (Jovy), daughter Jana, granddaughters Melody, Jennifer and Ariana. Lana is also survived by her brother Norris, sisters Pauline, Blye, Rosalie and Carole as well as her sisters-in-law Norma and Patricia and nephews and nieces.

Lana was predeceased by her parents Burns and Janet MacArthur, her son-in-law Conradin, her brother Cornelius, her sisters Georgie, Marion, Dorothy and Margaret and her brothers-in-law Murray and Gary.

Lana was born in Summerside, PEI on June 4th, 1948 and moved West with her family to Kitimat, BC in 1974 and then finally to Port Alberni, BC in 1976.

Lana was a devoted member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Port Alberni, where she served as secretary for many years. Her dedication to her faith and her church community was unwavering. She was a pillar of strength and support for her family, always putting the needs of others before her.

She touched the lives of so many people with her kindness, love and nurturing spirit and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her. We will forever cherish the memories we shared with her and find solace in the knowledge that she is now watching over us from above. Rest in peace, you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
