Joan is survived by her beloved husband Lloyd, her children Sherry and Clarke as well as numerous relatives in Ontario.
Joan was a longtime teacher/Librarian in the Alberni Valley and loved her job and her students. She was herself a lifelong learner and enjoyed travelling, the adventure of a new place, new culture and meeting new people. Still one of her favorite places was her and Lloyd’s spot at Sproat Lake where she enjoyed nature, either swimming or taking a walk.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005-6th Avenue with Rev. Per Knudson officiating. Cremation has taken place. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca
