Predeceased by her husband Milan; son Frank Krznaric; sister and brother-in-law Manda and Tom Perkovic; Marija is survived by her daughter Rosemary (Wayne) DeLuca; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Maria Krznaric, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
As an independent, determined young woman, Marija left her native Croatia, crossing first to Austria, then immigrating to Canada where she met Milan whom she married in Schumacher, Ontario, in 1957. They soon moved west to B.C. living briefly in Kitimat before settling on Port Alberni. They lived many happy years here, blending their Croatian heritage with a Canadian life.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005 6th Avenue, Port Alberni, BC. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni, BC.
