Predeceased by father Richard (Dick), Rick is survived by Mom, Doreen; siblings Ray (Bev), Randi (Phil), Terri (Byron), and Sandy (Steve). Rick was a tough guy from the get-go having been born 3 moths early in 1952. As the first born of 5 children, Rick loved his family more than anything and he often said “his sisters walked on water.” He was extremely proud of his nieces and nephews and kept in touch with them often. Uncle rick will be sadly missed by Dan, Chris (Crystal), Steph, Grace, Jason, Sam, Haley, Kady, Chloe and Michelle (Tony) and great nieces and nephew Christopher, Harmony and Paisley.
Born in Penticton, Rick spent most of his years in North Vancouver working in the shipyards. In 2004 he moved to Vancouver Island and worked for Quality Foods for 7 years in the Qualicum Beach location until retiring following heart surgery.
Rick loved golfing, his Harley and spending Sundays watching everything sports. A natural charmer, Rick had the gift of the gab and a sense of humour that kept us all laughing. Although Rick left us to be with his Lord far too early, his stories and laughter will remain in our hearts forever.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Stories and condolences may be offered to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC & Yukon, 200-1212 West Broadway Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 3V2
