It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Morris (Francoeur) would like to announce her sudden passing in Port Alberni on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the age of 78 years. She was born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan on February 20, 1932 to Blanch Poirier and Philip Francoeur.
Rita is predeceased by her husband Reginald Morris in 2001 and by many of her 13 brothers and sisters.
She leaves behind son Robert Morris (Jose), daughter Brenda Adams (Bruce), daughter Maureen Sorensen (John), daughter Valerie Poirier (Luc) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom she was extremely proud.
Rita was very involved in her community. She had strong convictions and beliefs. Rita fought for the injustices for everyone as she saw them. Her passions also included volunteering at West Haven, doing Tai Chi, as well as volunteering in and around the community and working with the Council of Canadians.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 from the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 4005 – 6th Ave, Port Alberni, BC. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.chapelofmemories.ca
