Sharanne Rose Gaiga

Sharanne Rose Gaiga passed away in Port Alberni, BC on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at the age of 53 surrounded by the love of her family. Sharanne fought a long, hard battle with cancer. You would never know she was sick. She always had a smile on her face and lived each day to the fullest.

Predeceased by father, Ted; survived by loving husband Jerry; daughter Kayla; Mother Rose; siblings Tom (Carmelina), Marilyn (Greg), Mike (Ale) and twin brother Joe (Mel); numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and many friends.

Born in Humboldt Saskatchewan, Sharanne moved with her family to the Alberni Valley when she was 7 years old. Sharanne grew up in the valley, graduating out of ADSS and after going to college she started working for Valley Vision Optometry. She stayed working for them for 30 years and took great pride in her work there as a Vision Therapist. When not working Sharanne enjoyed golf, travelling and walking with her dog Halo.

Her family would like to thank all of her doctors, specialists and nurses for all their help along the way and a special thank you to Dr. Daryl Lund for the many years of excellent care.

There will be no formal gathering at this time. A Celebration of Sharanne's Life will be planned in the spring.
