Stephen was predeceased by his grandpa, Henry Guldager.
He is survived by his daughter, Paisley; parents, George and Colleen; brother, Jayme; soul partner, Kathleen; grandma, Muriel Guldager; oma, Edith Haack; and opa, Lothar Haack, as well as aunts and uncles, nephews, niece, good friends, co-workers, and his best fur friend, Bob.
A heavy duty mechanic by trade, Stephen had a steady, capable way about him—someone who could be counted on to figure things out and make them right again. His working life took him through many logging companies, where he formed close bonds with his mechanic buddies and earned lasting respect through his skill, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand.
That same generous spirit was rooted early, as he grew up with his loving family on the farm, always ready to help—especially during harvest. He carried that devotion to family throughout his life, and nothing mattered more to him than his daughter, Paisley, whom he loved dearly as she is the light of his life.
Stephen found joy in the things that brought people together. He loved music—playing guitar, dancing, and being an avid concert-goer. He was also known for his collection of ball caps and t-shirts, and for the simple, meaningful ways he showed up for others: visits, hugs, and the warmth of his enduring smile.
He loved his Jeep and the freedom of dirt biking—on the farm and along back roads—and he never missed the fishing derby's. Time on the water was a constant source of happiness, especially boating at Great Central Lake, where he enjoyed the family cabin.
A celebration of life will be held on the farm at a later date.
Stephen will be greatly missed by his family and friends, especially for his hugs, enduring smile, and the heart of gold that defined the way he lived.
